At the end of every year, I find myself making promises I almost immediately doubt I’ll keep. This year, though, I created SMARTer goals, revised them where necessary, and made plans for others in my life to hold me accountable. This year, it was clearer than ever what I needed to do to make 2016 better than the greatness I experienced in 2015 – in 5 words…
Be intentional.
Stay focused.
Flourish.
In 2015 I experienced a surge in my self-awareness as a young professional. I took a class that challenged me to embody multimedia journalism in all that I do. I had two internships #backtoback, two vastly different experiences that collectively taught me a lot about the kind of work I want to do in this industry. In 2016 I must stay focused on solidifying my strengths and improving on my weaknesses as a journalist.
In 2015 I was successful. I laughed. I loved. I flourished. If I do 2016 correctly, I’ll be able to say the same a year from now.
